Korean Church Launches Divine Principle Revival Campaign Nationwide
Scores of churches across Korea completed on Sunday, November 04,
2012 three-days of Divine Principle lectures in what has been advertized as a
Divine Principle Revival Campaign.
After
the death of Reverend Sun Myung Moon, known by Unificationists as “True Father,”
his widow Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, “True Mother,” initiated a Unification Church
revival by witnessing to the Divine Principle, the seminal teachings by Rev.
Moon.
Under
True Mother’s guidance, the Revival Campaign leader, Dr. Joon Ho Seuk, the
president of the church in Korea, released an advertisement on November 1, 2012
in 11 national newspapers. The first run of the revival campaign was held
November 2-4, 2012. The churches in Korea are in the first of three 40-day
campaigns leading up to Foundation Day.
“The
time that you open your mind, new life will begin” was the headline of the
advertisement. Based on the advertisement, the Revival Campaign aims to explain
who was Rev. Moon, and what was his mission and the reason why Unificationists
refer to him as “True Father,” the “Messiah,” and the “Second Coming.” The
Campaigns will also provide answers to fundamental questions such as “Who Am
I?”, “What am I living for?”, and “Does Spirit World Exist?”
According
to a report from Tongilgyo.org, the Unification church website for Korea, the
No-won Church in the Kang-buk parish of Seoul had a turnout of 60 participants
at the three-day lecture series. Reverend Duk Bong Jang, junior pastor of the
No-won church and master of ceremonies for the three-day lecture series said in
a report, “Our No-won church is getting better especially since we are doing the
Divine Principle workshops.”
The
nationwide advertisements focused on the Unification Church revival of Divine
Principle education for non-Unificationists and Unificationists alike. Sources
in the Korean Church told Unificationnews.com prior to the instruction for the
Revival Campaign that the churches in Korea had focused on educating
Unificationists and Unificationist-born youth.
On
October 27, 2012 in Las Vegas, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon emphasized again to
Unificationists in the United States the importance of witnessing. “Divine
Principle is medicine,” said Dr. Moon. “America is not only for Americans, this
country should live for sake of others too. I saw and see hope in the American
movement.”
