Yet today, this 83-year-old great-grandmother, widow of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, and co-founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) endures unlawful detention in a cramped 70-square-foot cell at Seoul Detention Center. Arrested September 22, 2025, on politically fabricated bribery allegations—vehemently denied and labeled "false information" by Dr. Han herself—she has suffered over 58 days of isolation, repeated 10-12 hour interrogations, and deteriorating health: recurring heart issues, near-blindness requiring emergency glaucoma surgery, extreme fatigue, dark circles, dry cracking skin, inflamed face, weight loss, aggravated diabetes, and survival on painkillers alone. Despite full cooperation and expert warnings of mortal risk, courts rejected extended medical release on November 7, forcing her return to prison—even compelling vaccination in her weakened state. This is not justice; it is elder abuse and "religiocide" in a democracy Korea fought to build.
